This policy explains what information QuataFood (operated by Quata Digital) collects when you use our website, mobile apps and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using QuataFood, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Phone number, name, and (optionally) email address.
- Delivery addresses you save.
- Order history, ratings and reviews you leave.
- Support messages you send to our team.
Information collected automatically
- Device, app version, IP address and language.
- Approximate or precise location (only when you grant the permission and while the app is open).
- Crash and performance diagnostics.
2. How we use it
- To create and run your account, take orders, and deliver food.
- To verify your identity (one-time codes by SMS / WhatsApp, MPIN you set).
- To match you with riders, calculate fees, and show you nearby restaurants.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse of the platform.
- To improve our products (in aggregate, never identifying you).
3. Sharing
We share only what's necessary, and only with parties that have a contract with us:
- Restaurants see your name and order details so they can prepare it.
- Riders see your name, phone, and delivery address so they can reach you.
- Payment providers (e.g. QuataPay) receive what they need to process your payment.
- Authorities when we are legally required to disclose, after verifying the request.
We never sell your data.
4. Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we may retain limited records (e.g. invoices) for the period required by Cameroonian tax and consumer-protection law, then permanently delete them.
5. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords and MPINs are hashed using industry-standard algorithms; we never store them in plain text. Access inside our team is on a need-to-know basis.
6. Your rights
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold on you.
- Correction — fix anything that's wrong.
- Deletion — close your account and have your data erased.
- Portability — export your order history.
- Object — opt out of marketing communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@quatafood.com from the address linked to your account.
7. Children
QuataFood is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will delete the account.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
